The most hopeless city ever seen. You'll find good amount of narrow minded population and loads of back stabbers. Girls here think themselves as miss world, in fact they're filled with huge calories (they need a xxl fabric everywhere :-) ) now you can imagine! Huh... Puneri man has a stray dog value in his home, he is highly dominated by his "so" called spouse!

If Pune is hopeless why you came to beg here. Go to your town and beg there.Pune is Pune , people may be narrow minded but for Parprantiya like you.Go and see bony girls in your village because there is nothing to eat. You must have been kicked by some Puneri Punekar like a stray dog.
A Haad!!

There is a fashion to criticize Punekars all the time. One of the great marathi writer; originally from Mumbai has taken major part in criticizing Punekars. But he preferred to stay in Pune all the time till his death.
Those who dislike Pune; why they come here and create unnecessary burden on Pune infrastructure.

My dear punekars, There is vast increase of Paraprantiyas in Pune and PCMC. so Speak in MARATHI. In kerala I found all keralite speaking Malyalam . So I found no Paraprantiya , No bhaiyya panipuri, bhel,Thela,Gutkha etc etc there. Saving Pune from Atikraman starts from our home.So walk Marathi, Talk Marathi, Live Marathi, Marry Marathi, Mai Marathi.- Jai Maharashtra.

Common experience.. Often people come to pune to learn.. then earn. but finally these people end up saying pune people are hopeless, arrogant, the food is cheap.. forgetting that pune has given them their life, place to settle down...
The only place that is match to pune's weather, food, education standard, opportunities n life for youngsters is bangalore.
So if you find pune n punekars arrogant n irritating, why dont you get the hell out of our city...Why cant you see that your cities have'nt got the standard n have let you down.. pune is lifting you up.. helping you to become a respected person... so have some respect for the city....
-MI PUNEKAR......

For any job appointment in Maharashtra the person should have passed marathi subject in 10th .that's what other state do for restricting outside people snatching the local peoples jobs.If you go to south then one should be fluent in the local language.Maharashtra ajunahi jaga Ho.

I am Marwari. Since 1978, I do not live in Pune. We are in Jodhpur. At home, we STRICTLY speak MARATHI, as our Matru-bhasha. Both of my sons are fluent in Marathi. It is in our heart and blood, and can never be separated till we breathe last.

Pune is worst city of Narrow minded marathis or even whoever stay here for 4-5+ year, he develops that kind of narrow minded mentality. I am Marathi, but still I know these punekar assholes are worst! they they thinks MArathi=Pune+Mumbai remaining all is contryside, & yeah! somebody said it well, they thinks they are father of all & father of their father :D. IF you stay here for say 3-4 months, soon you will develop that gay marathi accent. amchya marathi la he lok kalank aahet, laaj watte hyanchya chindhigirichi!. Bhadve saglyanna paraprantiya samajtaat.

Pune!!! When I first saw the glimpse of city from Bangalore-Mumbai highway , it was like wow! so many buildings.
Even coming from a renowned city in India. I thought, I should experience pune and come here to work.

I realised the buildings that i saw were just madly constructed appartments, half of which are empty and rusting.
Its been 6 months and I have to say, Yuck! This place stinks. Stinks with the narrow minded people. The work culture sucks. The girls and guys get too intimate in public, for ex: SM bridge, Z point.
In spite of all this they speak of culture! Where the very same people destroy their culture.
Being from a city where public transportation is awesome and climatized. Pune buses and the driving system was one heck!
I was surprised to see that people hardly bother for traffic signs and police.

The corruption level and the pollution level was too high. Minor accidents were so common. People act like goondas even if they cannot do anything.
There is mad love towards everything Pune and Marati. Loving your city and language is important, but it should not be upon disrespecting others.
When I go to a shop in old city, they behave like as if i have committed a crime, even when i tell them i dont understand marati they use marati.
Eventually, I picked up basic marati. In some places there are boards written 'Speak in marati' in marati language. If you treat like this, then yeah!

One wierd thing is whenever you meet a new marati person, they first ask your surname to know you caste.
There are 100s of marati frnds in my city, making an earning there. We dont treat them like this.

It is a real shame, when you guys are becoming more westrenized and become traditional only on Ganesha festival.
It is also a city which got name from Gujaratis, Marwadis, MPians and Kannadigas along with Marati people.

I'm a Punekar and I agree with the witer. We Punekar's do have a complex, be it inferior or superior (depending on the situation) and yes we are rude, no doubt about it. I grew up in Pune with a great dislike and distrust of Mumbai and Mumbaikars till I actually spent nearly 10 years working in Mumbai. I couldn't realize how wrong I had been. For we Punekars everything is a constant comparison with other cities, especially Mumbai and the truth is for Mumbaikars Pune doesn't exist. They are just too busy with their lives. So, we Punekars need to get over our obsession of Mumbai and nowdays the new target Bangalore. Pune is not perfect. We do have really bad roads and equally bad manners for what is considered Oxford of the East. And for an outsider, Pune does come accross as a big village rather than a city due to its people and attitude. If we dont' change we will be no different from Pakistan that blames India for its faults rather than accepting that faults exist and improving them.

One thing I observed about Punekars is they don't have taste buds at all! They can eat anything no matter how it tastes. Most of the over crowded eateries in Pune serves average food. I really wonder what is the thing which attracts these pathetic tasteless people. LOL!
